Game begins 2 vs 2 in both ends. Coach dumps into corner and players battle for puck. Defensive pair must force a turnover and pass at least once to exit the zone. Player that receives the pass (O3) in this diagram then has he option of skating into zone or passing. Play then becomes a 3 vs 2. ( O1, O2, O3 vs X1, X2 in this diagram). At the beginning of the drill X3 and X4 are trying to prevent the breakout (e.g., forechecking). Teaches breakout and forecheck.
